I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! Special shout out to the Mixed Chorus for performing at the annual Milton MLK Breakfast this past Saturday! Thank you to Mrs. Sheila Thompson for stepping in as the director for this performance! I had a fabulous time at the annual Florida Music Educators Association Conference in Tampa, FL. I attended some great workshops and performances. The weekend was capped off by a great performance of the All-State Men's and Women's Choirs which featured our own Travis Hudson and Emily Lile! This week we get back to the grind of preparing for MPA, and our Spring Concert! I can't wait to see you all and I hope you're ready to work!
Welcome back everyone! I hope you had a fabulous break and are now looking forward to the second-half of the school year. Here is a run down of this weeks/weekend events for chorus.
Whew! What a week we had last week! Thank you to everyone, parents and students, for making our concert fantastic! Thank you to all parents and students for making our Disney trip such a wonderful experience for everyone involved! Monday - Mixed Chorus performs at the Santa Rosa Retired Teacher's Luncheon. Please report to the chorus room at 9:15am. We'll eat there and return to school around 11:45am.
Tuesday - We will begin reviewing for finals exams!
Thursday - All Angel Tree gifts need to be turned in to Mrs. Wernette. Please make sure all gifts new with tags, and gift wrapped. After school we'll have our chorus pot-luck Christmas party! Students will sign up to bring food/drinks. Anyone wanting to participate in the dirty Santa game will need to bring a wrapped gift (max $10). Anyone available will join us after as we go carol outside the home of a special MHS friend!
Friday - Piano students will perform at the Forsyth House during 1st and 2nd periods.
Last week was a great week of rehearsals capped off by a great performance downtown Friday night! Looking ahead, this is our BIG week as we have rehearsals, our concert, and our DISNEY trip!
Monday - any student available to help set up decorations in auditorium please meet at 8:30am in the auditorium. MANDATORY dress rehearsal after school until 5:00pm. Students - please make sure you have a ride to pick you up at 5pm.
Tuesday - Today is our Holiday Concert!!!! Students are to report to the auditorium at 6pm in their full concert dress.
Wednesday - This is the deadline to turn in the fieltrip permission for for Disney. Students - please make sure you are packed and ready for Disney!
Thursday - Students are to be at the school BY 4:30AM!! Students will check in with their chaperone, show their performance uniform, turn in any medicine with proper forms, and load the bus. We will leave at APPROX. 5:00am! We will arrive at Magic Kingdom after stopping for lunch.
Friday - We will spend the day at EPCOT and perform that night at 6:45pm and 8:15pm. Family and friends back home, be sure to like our chorus Facebook page as we try to Facebook Live the concert at the 6:45pm show (5:45pm local time).
Saturday - We will be at Animal Kingdom until 4pm. Parents we will update you as we get closer to home, but be prepared for a 10:30pm arrival!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and were able to rest and enjoy time with family and friends! We have a very busy couple of weeks coming up and I hope you all take time to check over these events as it pertains to everyone!
Tuesday - Poinsettias are scheduled to arrive! Please make arrangements to have them picked up, and delivered, to the individuals you sold to. There is also a Disney rehearsal until 5pm.
Wednesday - Disney rehearsal from 8-9am.
Thursday - Disney rehearsal until 5:30pm. Required parent trip meeting at 5:30pm. Every student going on the trip must be present with a parent. I am hoping to keep this meeting short and sweet, but there is a lot to cover.
Friday - All Disney students will meet at the Imogene Theater at 6pm. We will perform right outside Boomerang Pizza at 6:30pm. Everyone is invited to join us for dinner afterwards!
Saturday - Auditions for next year's Musical @ Pace High School. Please see myself, or Mrs. Bunnell for more information.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped make the Homecoming Dance a success! It was a lot of hard work and long hours, but it wouldn't have happened without everyone volunteering their time! Here's a look at this week's chorus happenings!
Monday - Final Disney payment due! This must be paid on time. Those of you who worked the homecoming dance will receive a new statement, but your payment is due Tuesday AT THE LATEST!
Tuesday - ALL FINAL DISNEY PAYMENTS ARE DUE at this time! Students who do not pay their final payment on time will be dropped from the trip. There is also a Disney rehearsal after school until 5pm.
Wednesday - Disney rehearsal before school from 8-9am.
Thursday - Leadership team meeting before school from 8:30-9:00am. There is also a Disney rehearsal after school utnil 5pm.
Friday - No School! Happy Veteran's Day! Thank a Vet!
Keep an eye out for next week! We will have Women's Ensemble performing at District Solo & Ensemble Festival as well as continued Disney rehearsals. Hope you all have a great week!
Happy Homecoming Week! I know there is a lot going on this week both within the choral department and around school! Please read ahead for more information and reminders!
Monday - Happy Halloween! I can't wait to see everyone's costume! We will need help before school finishing up the door! There will also be an All-County rehearsal at Navarre HS from 4:30-7:30pm.
Tuesday - I, along with 9 other students, will be at All-County all day in rehearsals. While I know it's also the night of Escapades, please come out and support your fellow chorus members as they perform a fantastic concert at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pace at 7pm.
Wednesday - Today is a half-day and also the day that all Poinsettia forms and money are due! Please be diligent in turning in these items!
Thursday - It's pep-rally day! Today is also when any unsold spirit poms need to be turned in along with money for ones that have sold. Remember, if any poms are lost or damaged, students are responsible for covering the cost.
Friday - Those students who will be selected to join the truck for the parade will need to report to the chorus room at 8:00am for set up!
Saturday - Students who signed up to set-up for the dance will need to be at school from 9am-noon. After the dance, 11pm, any student in attendance will need to stay and help break down!
Sunday - rest and recover!
Remember!!!! The final Disney payment is due next week! This payment MUST be paid on time. No exceptions!!!!!

Monday - Anyone interested in helping decorate the door for homecoming can come work from 8:30-9:00am! There will be an All-County rehearsal at Navarre High School starting at 4:30pm. Please be on time! Tonight is also our Chick-fil-A spirit night from 5-8pm! Please come out and support our program and bring your flier with you!

Tuesday - We start our Poinsettia Fundraiser! Students will be sent home with order forms and are encouraged to sell! There will also be a Disney rehearsal after school until 4:30pm. Remember, students must attend at least two rehearsals per week!
Wednesday - Today is the deadline notify Mrs. Wernette if you plan to perform as a soloist at District Solo and Ensemble. Today is also the deadline to pay your $20 fee for Solo and Ensemble. No student will be allowed to register and pay for Solo & Ensemble if they have not paid their chorus fee, uniform, or any part of the 3rd Disney payment. There will be a Disney rehearsal before school from 8-9am.
Thursday - There will be a Leadership Team meeting from 8:30-9:00am. There will be a Disney rehearsal after school until 4:30pm.
Friday - Any students wishing to help out with the Homecoming Door are welcome to come before school from 8-9am, and after school until 4:15pm to help decorate!
This week students will also begin passing out fliers for our next Chick-fil-A Spirit Night Monday, Oct. 24th. We hope you will all plan to attend this event to support our chorus program!
Whew! What a great Fall Concert last week! Congrats to all the students on their hard work in preparing some great music! We now move in to the last week of the 1st nine weeks and look forward to the rest of the semester.
Monday - All-State practices before/after school. Students who paid for their uniform before the deadline will take their uniform home today!
Tuesday - Rooming list for Disney will be posted. Any student who has not signed up for a room by the end of the day will be placed in one regardless. All-State Vocal Auditions at Navarre High School after school.
Wednesday - Our first Disney rehearsal will be from 8-9am!
Thursday - Disney rehearsal after school until 4:30pm.
